Giro (Portuguese for 'spin') was born out of a desire to investigate matter in a state of trance, understanding the act of turning as a gesture that leads matter into this state. For this first installation, which paves the way for the next planned by the artist, she investigates the spinning of clay, where the lathe is the basic instrument for this construction. The next installation will focus on wood and then metal, all based on this machinery that extracts form from the rotation of matter.
