UPDATED NATIONAL FLAG
The work Updated National Flag is born together with the result of the 2018 presidential election in Brazil,
where Jair Bolsonaro is elected. The materiality of the work is related to the complex environmental and human issues of the Brazilian scenario, mainly to the environmental crime that occurred in Mariana, by the
mining companies Vale and Samarco. Several cities were devastated by a toxic mud of ore tailings due to the
rupture of the containment dam. The work seeks the creation of a national symbol that highlights the real state of the territory, and thus, can be bait to amplify the collective revolt.
